Things I will miss

I got to thinking today of all the things I will miss when we are full timing in our RV: my bathtub, volunteering at the humane society, volunteering at the library with the PAWS FOR BOOKS program with my dog Leonard, being able to use my library card, my washer and dryer. I will miss having a fenced yard for the dogs, but they adapt quite well to going for leash walks, and that makes us exercise more - a good thing!

I have been downsizing my dog training business - I will miss doing that, but luckily a new trainer is holding classes locally, so I feel good that people will have her available.
I'm not counting all the people we leave, because we can still be in touch via e-mail and cell phone, and we'll be back to visit.

We will gain a lot of things too -- new challenges, new friends, seeing new places, new volunteer oportunities, and being able to see the grandkids more often. So I am looking forward to our mobile life and a wealth of experiences!

Denver trip

We had a wonderful trip to Denver in October. Had quality time with family - the grandkids are growing up so fast. I couldn't post here because we had computer connection problems. We had always used a cell phone connection but this time it wouldn't work. Alltell has evidently made changes. When we got back we switched to Verizon as our cell phone provider and got an aircard for the laptop. So far that is working okay.

We had a couple of problems with the 5th wheel on our trip -- the steps broke (luckily no one got hurt)! We had to use the jack to prop up the steps until we got back. And our black water tank got stopped up and wouldn't empty. We had not used enough water with the flushes. We added extra water and chemicals and drove to Julesburg and tried to dump again -- it worked, yippee!

Doug has taken the trailer to the Exel factory in Smith Center KS for some work. They will replace the steps and also fix a problem with a sidewall where water has gotten in.

We have told Doug's mother that we are selling the house in the spring. It is hard for her to understand our dream of traveling and living full time in our RV.
